Dear Christ Church,
Following on from Jay’s email of last week, I am writing to you all to let you know of a couple of changes to our services:
On the evening of Sunday 25th January there will be no evening service at Christ Church. Instead we will be meeting with other churches in Orpington at the Baptist Church at 6.30pm for a United Service at which Bishop James will give the key note address – more details available in the attached flier.
You may notice some slight changes to the morning worship services held on the 4th Sunday of the month – to allow for more personal testimonies and times of ministry, a more informal worship pattern will be used. We do hope these additions will encourage and benefit you as we learn from others about what God has done in their lives and allow time for the Holy Spirit to minister to us.
Bishop Given comes to Christ Church on Saturday 14th February It is a great delight to announce that Bishop Given of Kondoa will be visiting Canterbury for a training course and has the opportunity to update the parish on developments in Kondoa Diocese and the Bible College. Kondoa is perhaps the poorest region in Tanzania and certainly one of the most isolated. The Diocese of Rochester has a diocesan link with Kondoa and Jay, Jo, Lewis and Anna Colwill (amongst others in the diocese) have been able to make a visit to the diocese to learn more about the work, and share in ministry. Bishop Given will be with us all day on Saturday 14th February. It is my plan to organise a Kondoa Coffee Morning Mission Event from 10am- 12 noon in the Christ Church cafe and small hall. Bishop Given will have a chance to share more about the work and inspire us with stories about the Christian faith. He is a truly inspirational leader!
Please make a note in your diary and do join us if you can.
With kind regards,
